Obituary for William Gore

On February 11, 2022, William Gary Gore passed away peacefully reading his morning devotion and was finally able to move on to a much better place in the presence of the Lord. Over his lifetime, he impacted the lives of many people, and was a life-long learner who sought to inspire and encourage others.

He was born on September 12, 1941, to William Jewel Gore and Maxine Price Gore in Kansas City, Missouri. He played college football at Baker University where he was appropriately named "Taz." After graduation he started working in the grain business. He first worked for Cargill and then Ralston Purina. Over his early part of his career, he moved to numerous cities before ending back in Kansas City. In 1973 he moved to Memphis to join an up-and-coming Cook Industries. He continued to trade commodities through Willard Sparks, McVean Trading and Gulf Coast Grain.

He began his journey of coming to know his savior at Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis where he began Son Seek Ministries, a father son / daughter ministry.

Gary was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather, who enjoyed spending time with his family and sharing his passion for the outdoors. This passion for the outdoors along with his desire to invest in others led him to found Team Trek in Heber Springs, AR. He spent the remainder of his life positively impacting the lives of others. He authored Navigating Change, which embodies some of his beliefs about leadership, team building and character development. He moved to Heber Springs full time in 2013 and joined First Baptist of Heber Springs where he was active in the men's ministry.

He was loved by many and will be missed greatly. He was survived by his wife Lori Anderson Debevec Gore, his children Jeff Gore, Liz (of Charlotte); Mike Gore, Molly (of Memphis), Kim Gore Battaile, Joseph (of Memphis), Katie Gore (of Memphis) and Daniel Debevec (of Orlando); his many grandchildren, Michael Gore Jr., Catherine Gore Rossitch (Alex), Caroline Pollard, Jeffrey Gore, William Pollard, Gracie Gore, Price Gore, Sophie Battaile, Graham Gore, Daniel Debevec, Jr., and Asher Gore. He is also survived by his two brothers Rick Gore (Barb) and Randy Gore (Debbie) both of Kansas City, MO. As well as many other nieces and nephews.

We look forward to seeing him again down by the riverside peacefully casting on a glorious heavenly day.

A celebration of life will be on February 21, at First Baptist Church in Heber Springs, Arkansas at 10:00 am. Reception will follow at the Team Trek Ranch
