Obituary for Wildred Southerland

Wildred Jimmy Southerland the son of Lucian Southerland and Estalee Martin Southerland was born in Pine Grove, Arkansas on January 1, 1935 and passed away in Heber Springs, Arkansas on February 1, 2024 at the age of 89 years.

He was a member of Pleasant Ridge General Baptist Church of Ida, Arkansas, and a member of the military National Guard. Wildred was a dump truck driver and worked in construction. He enjoyed being around people, going trail riding, watching sports, and loved his animals.

He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Southerland, his parents Lucian and Estalee Southerland, two brothers; Chester Southerland, Milburn Southerland, two sisters; Loys Raney and Lorece Ezell Southerland and his sister-in-law Sharon Phillips.

To Cherish his Memory are his sons Bruce Southerland (Karen), Donald Southerland both of Ida, Arkansas, sister, Alma Cannon of Drasco, his faithful companion dog Rex, three grandchildren; Cody Southerland (Rachel), Corey Southerland (Tara) and Bailey Southerland (Tomika), eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

A visitation will be on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Pleasant Ridge General Baptist Church and funeral service will follow at 11;00 AM by Bro.Dennis Ezell, Bro.Odell Altom and Bro.Jeff Thomas

Internment will be at Old Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Ida Arkansas.

Pallbearers are Cody Southerland, Corey Southerland, Bailey Southerland, Leonard Towell, Melvin Farris, and Tim Southerland with Honorary Pallbearers:Larry Cannon, Tiger Archer, Jon Raney, and Zyndall Raney.
