Obituary for Wendell Byrd
Wendell Eric Byrd, the son of William E. Byrd and Helen Marie Foust Byrd, was born in Ida, Arkansas on April 18, 1942, and passed away in North Little Rock, Arkansas on August 8, 2022, at the age of 80 years.
Wendell was retired from the Arkansas State Police and was a veteran of the United States Army and the Arkansas National Gurad. He attended the Pleasant Ridge General Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and training dogs, visiting with family and friends and caring for people.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Helen Byrd, a brother Billy Byrd, a nephew, Jonathan Byrd and a brother-in-law Randy Spinks, and a sister in law Sherry Byrd. Survivors are his wife Gaye Spinks Byrd, two brothers, Lowell LaDon (Don) Byrd and Danny M. Byrd, other relatives, and many friends.
A visitation will be on Friday, August 12, 2022 from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Family Funeral Service and funeral services will be at 2:00 PM by Pastor Ted Walker and Danny Byrd. The burial will be in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens.
