Obituary for SHELBY BITTLE

Shelby “Bill” Bittle, a loving husband, Father and Grandfather was born on October 24, 1922 in Shiloh, Arkansas to Levi Callie and Annie Chance Bittle and died on March 20, 2011 in Richardson, Texas. Shelby served in the United States Army and later attended Barber School in Memphis, TN. He had a very successful career owning his own Barber Shop and living for many years in Wichita, KS. He and his wife lived in Arkansas and Texas for the past five years where he was a devoted husband and caregiver. He was active member of his church and his great loved for gospel singing. Now he can join the heavenly choir in heaven. Shelby was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Virginia Bittle, a son Jerry Bittle, his parents, two sisters Mary Bittle and Kate Birdsong, five brothers Jim Bittle, Homer Bittle, Callie Bittle, Floyd Bittle and Buster Bittle. He is survived by his daughter-in-law Trish Bittle, three granddaughters Jordan Livingstone and husband John, Carrie Bittle, Abby Bittle, a great-grandson J. P. Livingstone, a niece Wilma Hartsfield and husband Junior and her family, a close family friend Vernon Becker, other relatives and many friends. Pallbearers will be Brian Stone, Scott Hartsfield, Sherman Murphree, T. J. Waters, John Livingstone, and Billy Wade. Funeral Services will be Saturday March 26, 2011 at 10:30 am at the Greers Ferry Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Don Clark officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am prior to the service.
