Obituary for Letha Barger (Smith)
Letha Christene Barger the daughter of Bradley Smith and May Grimes Smith was born in Greers Ferry, Arkansas on September 1, 1926 and passed away in Heber Springs, Arkansas on December 21, 2021 at the age of 95 years.
Letha was a Christian of the Baptist Faith. She married Chester on May 17, 1946 in Greers Ferry. She was a homemaker for many years, as well as helping with grandkids and great grandkids over the years. Her family meant everything to her. She was a hardworking woman who also fed many people in the area while working at local restaurants. Many people can say they were fortunate enough to sit at her table on Fridays for fried chicken, fried potatoes and pinto beans. If you did you were lucky, If you did not you really missed out. She was loving, helpful and kind to everyone.
Letha is preceded in death by her spouse Chester Barger, her parents Brad and May Smith, two brothers Elbert and Homer Smith and three sisters Adaith Smith Bittle, Lenna Smith Thompson and Maude Smith Bittle, as well as an infant daughter Maria Christene.
She is survived by a son Ronnie Barger of Prim, a daughter Sue Brimhall and husband Larry of Phoenix, Arizona, seven grandchildren Chris Hartle and husband Robert of Cabot, Arkansas, Renee Vasquez and husband Jerry of Phoenix, Arizona, Nick Brimhall and wife Penny of Heber Springs, Joe Brimhall of Globes, Michigan, Heith Barger and wife Kerri of Prim, Arkansas, Natalie Needham and husband Brad of Rogers, Arkansas and Natasha Barger of Drasco, Arkansas. She also has eleven great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren as well as many other family and friends.
A visitation will be held at Shiloh Crossroads Community Church in Greery Ferry, Arkansas on Sunday, December 26, 2021 starting at 2:00 P.M. and funeral services will be at the church at 3:00 PM with burial in Shiloh Crossroads Cemetery.
