Obituary for Jonathan Rainbolt

Jonathan “Butch” Rainbolt of Drasco, Arkansas passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022, at the age 70 years old. Jonathan was born in Portland, Indiana on September 10, 1951, to Samuel and Wilma Rainbolt. He was a Baptist and loyal to the Lord. He worked for many years as a special education teacher in Macomb, Illinois, where he eventually became an administrator. He continued his career in Wichita, Kansas before moving to Concord, Arkansas to assume the position of principal at Concord High School. Jonathan went on to work at the Arch-Ford Education Coop as a supervisor until he retired in 2014. He helped found and served as president for the Arkansas chapter for the Council of Exceptional Children, and in 2014 was recognized as the Arkansas Special Education Administrator of the Year. Additionally, he was a member of the Arkansas Association of Special Education Administrators and Arkansas Education Administrators. During his career, Jonathan attended legislative sessions as an advocate for disability education and rights. When not working, he enjoyed fishing, reading, and spending time with his grandchildren. Jonathan was loved and will be missed by his family, friends, and the many educators and students whose lives he touched.

Jonathan is survived by his wife Linda; their son Joshua Rainbolt, his wife Rachael, and their children Garrett, Jackson, Chase, Hadley, and Lawson of Heber Springs, Arkansas; their daughter Dosha Baureis, her husband Michael, and their children Katrina, Miles, Magnolia, and Phoenix of Drasco, Arkansas; his constant, close friend and partner in crime, Steve VonBoeckman of Prospect Heights, Illinois; his in-laws Teri and Eric Renner, Buddy and Kathy Allen, Shawn and Terri Allen, and Tim Allen; and many extended family and friends.

Jonathan was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Wilma Rainbolt.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 1:00 PM in Family funeral Service Chapel by Pastor Chris Bailey and another service will be held following the service at Family Funeral Service at Cleburne Countys Baptist Church in the gymnasium
