Obituary for Janinne Giroir

On Sunday, October 17, 2021, Janinne Bare Giroir, Jr, passed away at age 82.

Janinne was born March 15, 1939, in Panama City, Florida, the daughter of Mary Ethel Ward and Harry Ward. She married Charles Joseph Giroir, Jr. on April 15, 1960. They raised two daughters, Janne Giroir Siegel, of Clark, Colorado, and Jolie Giroir Mosley, of Sunderland, Vermont.

Janinne enjoyed singing, playing the piano and gardening. In 2000, she and Joe, her husband of 61 years, moved to what became known as the Two JJ Ranch in Quitman, AR, where she designed their dream home, complete with peaceful gardens, cats, dogs, horses, and cows. She and Joe often joined together to play music, she singing and playing the piano and he on his harmonica. She especially enjoyed music nights at the Ranch, especially the hymns, as she said it always reminded her of her time singing in the church growing up in Florida. She had friends from all walks of life, from their time in Little Rock to their time in Quitman, and she will be missed by those whose lives she touched.

She was an interior designer and homemaker. She was preceded in death by Joe Giroir. She is survived by her daughters Janne Siegel, her husband, Brian Siegel, and their two children, Lauren Siegel and Ben Siegel, and daughter Jolie Mosley, her husband Jeff Mosley and their daughter, Isabel Mosley, her brother, Boyd Ward and his wife, Ina Ward, and their daughter Christie Barg, her husband Josh Barg and their two children, Mason and Lainey, along with cousins and relatives residing in Florida and her devoted Aussie Shepard, Angel, caretaker of the Ranch.

Graveside Services will be held at Graceland Cemetery in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life to be scheduled for both her and Joe at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
