Obituary for Delores Johnson (Carpenter)

Delores Marlene Johnson the daughter of LeRoy W. Carpenter and Elverta G. Rockemann Carpenter was born in Humboldt, Nebraska on February 1, 1934 and passed away in Heber Springs, Arkansas on December 23, 2021 at the age of 87 years.
She attended school in Nebraska and later became a bookkeeper and worked in civil service. Delores was the 2nd child out of 10 siblings.
In 1955 she married Curtis S. Johnson who was in the United States Air Force. They were stationed at bases in Nebraska and California. They had four children: Craig, Debbie, Marla and Douglas Johnson. Delores divorced in September 1993 and never remarried.
Delores kept busy doing volunteer work at her church (Quitman Baptist) and various civic clubs she belonged to. She belonged to QUMC, Quitman Fire Club, VFW Auxiliary, WO&W, Lions Club, Quitman Fire Auxiliary and various positions at her church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Donna Hill, ex husband Curtis Johnson, daughter’s Deborah Johnson and Marla Johnson, son Douglas Johnson, brothers Larry Carpenter, Gene Carpenter and Bud Carpenter, sister Barbara Carpenter and sister Pat Basino. She is survived by her son Craig Johnson SR of Quitman and grandchildren Brandy McClendon and husband Lee of Greers Ferry, Candi Baker of Greers Ferry, Trent Johnson of Quitman, Jennifer Belt of Quitman, Craig Johnson JR of Quitman, Joshua Johnson, USMC of North Carolina, Douglas Johnson JR of Quitman, great grandchildren Brice McClendon of Greers Ferry, Chase Ira Johnson of Quitman and Chelsea Johnson of Quitman,Tripp and Kadey Johnson, Dalton Ashton, Haleigh Belt and Ashlee and Destiny Goff and Joshua Johnson Jr., other relatives and many friends. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM and Funeral Services will be held at Family Funeral Service Chapel on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 1:00 PM with burial in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens
