Obituary for Betty Lacy (Brittain)
It is with great sadness that the family of Betty Joe (Brittain) Lacy announce her passing on July 6, 2022 at the age of 81.
Our mother, Betty, was one of the strongest/most courageous and loving women to ever walk this earth and our family was blessed to have her as the head of the family.
In 1958, she met Merrell and together they went on to have three children. Betty was a wonderful and loving mother who gave her all to her family. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Merrell Eugene Lacy; Parents, James and Blanche Mae Brittain; Siblings, Vernon, James Ralph Jr, Drucilla, Virginia Louise, Jackie, Bobbie and Jimmie.
Betty who will be lovingly remembered by her children, Ricky (Kelly), David (Lori), Kristal (Trey); grandchildren, Wendy, Brandy (Richard), Brittney (Dustin), Buck, Chaise (Atlanta), Caleb, Savannah and Isaac along with nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Mary Mix and several nieces and nephews.
Betty never liked being the center of attention and per her wishes there will be no service. Her wish was for her ashes to be mixed with Merrell's and spread at their son David's property.
The family would like to extend a very special THANK YOU to Atlanta Hubbard who came and stayed by our side during the last few weeks. Whether it was holding our hands or helping give medicine or whatever Nanny needed, Atlanta, you were and amazing caregiver and a perfect fit to this family. Also, Brandy Bohannan of Hospice Home Care, you were so amazing with Nanny. She loved both of you ladies in a very special way. She was so comfortable with you and you both made her last days so peaceful.
