Obituary for Bertie Houston (Tackett)
Bertie Frances Houston the daughter of Huey Eugene Tackett and Clema Robertson Tackett was born in Quitman, Arkansas on August 7, 1938, and passed away in North Little Rock, Arkansas on January 3, 2023, at the age of 84 years.
She was a member of Howard General Baptist Church in Quitman, Arkansas. She enjoyed driving tractors, yard work and being outdoors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Huey and Clema Tackett, her husband, Porter C. Houston, a son, Bill Houston, a daughter, Martha Houston, two brothers, Eldon Tackett and Raymod Tackett, two sisters, Lucille Hargett and Flo Adams, and a grandson David Loftis.
Survivors are two daughters; Vickie Loftis and husband Donnie and Jackie Bennett, three sons; Rickie Houston, Odis Houston and wife Dena, and Ray Houston and wife Susan, two sisters; Robbie Holland, Viva Hargett, and a daughter-in-law, Linda Houston.
She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; Cliff Spencer, Jamie Spencer, Daniel Loftis, Talon Houston. Tia Houston, Jerrid Houston, Eric Houston, Chance Houston, Hayden Henson, Kyle Houston, Colin Houston, Katelyn Jett, Justin Bennett, and Seth Bennett, also, 22 great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 12:00 until 2:00PM at Howard General Baptist Church and funeral service will be at the church at 2:00 PM by Rev. Terry Mote with burial in Quitman Cemetery.
