Obituary for Benjamin "Ben" Sergent Jr.
Benjamin Harrison “Ben” Sergent, JR the son of Benjamin H. Sergent, SR and Myrtle Williford Sergent was born in Mt. Vernon, Arkansas on September 4, 1948 and passed away in Little Rock, Arkansas on July 10, 2021 at the age of 72 years.
He was of the Baptist Faith, he loved Christmas and Western Movies. He enjoyed playing cards and gambling. He enjoyed visitors. He was a disabled Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of Romance Masonic Lodge #481, a member of the VFW, American Legion and the USMC Marine Corp League.
He was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin H. Sergent, SR and Myrtle Williford Sergent, siblings George Sergent, Delvin Sergent, Alfred Sergent, Albert Sergent, Ethel Daniels, Aletha Crompton, Fred Sergent, Jeanie Cooper, and Florence Sergent, children Benjamin H. Sergent III and Andy Sergent. Survivors are his wife Vera Ann Beck Sergent, siblings John Dahley, Ima Aringe, Bert Dahl, George Darby, Tom Darby, Roy Vance and Myrtle McCleery, children Sherry Tucker, Kevin Sergent, Laura Barden and husband Chuck, Vera Marie Jones, Joshua Sergent and wife Amanda and Zachary Sergent. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren besides other relatives and many friends.
A visitation will be held at Family Funeral Service on Sunday, July 18, 2021 beginning at 1:00 PM and funeral services will be in Family Funeral Service Chapel at 2:00 PM by Bro. Billy Merritt with burial in Romance Cemetery. A reception will follow services at the cemetery at in Mt. Vernon Community Center #2 Garland Springs Road, Romance, Arkansas.
